INDUSTRIAL SILENCERS

"Silencers" are the equipment which, fitted along a flow of noise, noticeably reduce its volume.

Essentially industrial silencers consist of a metal casing containing noise reduction elements and noise reducing cavities through which the flow of air is channelled.

"L" SERIES SILENCERS

These are mixed silencers (reactive and dissipatory) designed to silence the noise generated by gaseous fluxes which emit pure tones with high frequency components.
The present application of "L" series silencers is for the silencing of compressed air exhausts, steam exhausts and all those sources of noise generated by a gas during lamination processes.

"R" SERIES SILENCERS

These are mixed silencers (reactive and dissipatory) designed to silence the noise generated by gaseous fluxes which emit pure tones with low frequency components. The present application of "R" series silencers is for the silencing of exhaust gases from endothermic engines (diesel cycles) or intake or outlets of pumps or piston compressors.

"V" SERIES SILENCERS

These are mixed silencers (reactive and dissipatory) designed to silence the noise generated by gaseous fluxes which emit pure tones with wide range frequency components. The present application of "V" series silencers is for silencing intake and exhaust of gas turbines or high pressure centrifugal ventilators."V" silencers may be made with a circular section of standard sizes, or in a customised rectangular section according to the spaces for installation.

DATA NECESSARY FOR THE CORRECT SIZING OF THE SILENCERS

Flow of the fluids: Kg/h
Pressure: bar
Temperature of the fluid: °C
Loss of limit load: mm c.d.a.
Diameter of coupling: mm

SILENCING OF EXHAUSTS

The same principal can be applied to exhausts. The equipment is obviously larger. The use of an active noise control system, for example on the exhaust of an internal combustion engine, offers the following advantages:* exceptional reduction at low frequencies (50 - 350 Hz);* no counterpressure of the exhaust (loss of load)
